Knocking on Heaven's Door

Somehow the post title above has no relation to the post below. Yet makes sense somehow (To me anyway. Sortof.)

"Knock, knock, knockin' on heaven's door..."

Apologies VS Sorry

How often do you apologize for something you've done wrong?

How often do you apologize for something you've not done wrong?

And when you apologize, is there a distinction between saying "I'm sorry" and "I apologize for..."

Random musings...

Trivia: I like the song Knocking On Heaven's Door & I can't actually pinpoint why
Life: Work's been quite busy (as usual) of late; Still interesting as usual to see people growing & interacting with different people with unique personalities

The Bierwurst Bitch

Was out at a pub chilling after work yo with a couple of me homies when ugliness reared is head...

A Sample Delicious Chunk of Bierwurst

An Ode to the Bierwurst Bitch
By Stev

Was a night just to chill out and relax
Music was alrite & footy was aplaying
Familiar faces at our drinking shack
Mugs in our hands & beer kept aflowing

Then Mr German dropped by with no invit
Sat right down but seemed pretty neat
Passed out some fine cancer sticks
We shrugged and said "Sure, take a seat"

Beer flowed on & came some idle banter
Learnt Mr German expat for pretty much forever
Then Mr German guy starts going bonker
Thoughts were "Shit, what's wrong with this fucker"

He started yelling at the top of his voice
Fucking malays, fucking chinese, fucking government
And on he droned with his lyrical tryst
Fucking indians, fucking canadians, fucking germans

A lesson to us he was trying to teach
From his life story on how he was burnt
On racism, cronyism & two-faced cheats
When all we wanted was a heineken

In a way we understood a bit of his frust
Of all his pain & bitter bile choking within
Yet its hard to listen to fuckedupness
When YOU are talking while holding a pint

*heh*

(Looking back it was quite funny thought. A friends girlfriend commented on hearing the story that we were verbally molested /swt)

Do you have a pubs/watering hole story you would like to share?

Trivia: Bierwurst = Beer sausage
Disclaimer: While stevblogs in no way supports the thoughts of "Mr German" above, like the silent majority (i hope) we do feel theres much to be then in many factors
Stupidity: Stop the stupid bickering & grow up! =_=

The Last Blessing

With some reflective thoughts, this will be the last BYB post.

All good things need to come to an end. While I fully sign on & support the premise of a reminder of one's blessings, I have unfortunately come to feel that this reminder for me had made the exercise a bit contrived.

My intentions for blogging is to 'speak' when there is something worth speaking.

On a side note, I had noticed that it had been a habit of mine not to say proper farewells. Would point largely due to circumstances, but yet perhaps it is of my own doing - thus the urge, the need this time to do a proper Farewell from BYB post.

To Neo who cooked up the original BYB idea, it has been an honor - and I will continue to enjoy your many stories of life in India
To MsDemmie, your views, thoughts & passion have had a small impact in my life I believe
To Whatever, your sense of humor, humility & wonderous view of the world captivates me
To CyberCelt, your hardworkingness, stength & sense of striving inspires me
To KuanYin, your peaceful aura & geniality truly makes me feel at peace
And to the many other wonderful folk at BYB... keep on counting your blessings!

I am indeed blessed to meet many wonderful people online via BYB.

Its a Mine!

Updated Sat Mar 31: They say management is a mine field... Then a friend ends up actually working in a mine. Well sorta anyway.

J the cute petite miner gal ;)

Another friend had passed over a book on management leadership by John C Maxwell. She didn't like it. And neither did I. The writer seems... can I say it? Conceited? Irreputable laws? hmm... Ok. Well a lot of other people seemed to not like Maxwell as well so let's try something else.

I came, I saw, I peed...

I picked up next, The Rules of Work which was lying about. Better than Maxwell & with points that one could relate with. Still what turned me (my brain rather) off was the way getting ahead in the workplace was portrayed as how one manipulated one's world & surroundings. How one puts up fronts & tactics to use to get ahead.

Is it the state of world today that shapes the book? Or is everyone quite fucked up in a way? Or is it both?

Quite mine-boggling (PUN!)

A younger less jaded me most likely would have gone through the book & nodding my head profoundly at the wisdom gained. But if there's one lesson in life that I learnt the hard way - it's that integrity & life satisfaction comes first

Moranbah! HAHAHAHA!! (Sorry inside joke ;)

Keeping the post to a reasonable length, here are a few guidelines I try to uphold:-
@ What three main rules, standards, or morals do you live by? [BlogTalkers]
"Praise in public, criticize in private"
"Be efficient in management & tasks; But spend more time on relationships"
"If you aren't moving forward, you are falling behind"

More candy (Really! If you look closely she's holding candy ;)

"Tinker, tailor, soldier, sailor... Student, manager... miner?!" - What is your current occupation and what would be your preferred/dream job and why?

§

Trivia: Was going to put up some nice local spam here. But decided to put this post instead ;)
Other: There will be of course fans of the books in question & everyone is entitled to ones own opinion. And there will be of course cults, idiots, rapists, otherfuckeduptypes...

Bodi's Challenge

A Reply

1. I’ll respond with something random about you
2. I’ll challenge you to try something
3. I’ll pick a color that I associate with you
4. I’ll tell you something I like about you
5. I’ll tell you my first/clearest memory of you
6. I’ll tell you what animal you remind me of
7. I’ll ask you something I’ve always wanted to ask you

Yggdrasil?

1. You seem interested in the world around you.
I think it's important to look where you are walking. Falling down a manhole without a cover is only hilarious a long time after it happens.

2. I challenge you to write ten haikus on the blogging world!
The Beginning
Light out of darkness
Peeking shining and feeling
Bursting small sparklets

Pearls of laughter
Rolling free nary a care
Movement at own pace

Running freely wild
Content to search learn and grow
Not man yet not child

The Middle
Goal grasp to achieve
Mind set to task; passion to soul
Real strength in believe

Struggle up mountain
One goal, One mind - Eye on prize
Breathless clambering

Man high on a hill
Seeing vast as eye can see
Proud happy content

The End
Sunset and sea breeze
Joy and deep sorrow simult
Slow old and weary

Inertia and law
Reality and prediction
Last gasp and sadness

Human fickle thing
Changes countless more than sand
Silence lit moonbeam

The Future
From the beginning
Always comes to be an end
Yet hope life and dream

3. White
White is black. Or black is white. Or maybe its just all different shades of grey...

4. I like your sense of humour (not just abt trying to be funny), how you seem to like to keep things simple, and how you appreciate the diversity of life
Very well said indeed. I like felines of all shapes & sizes ;) On a slightly more serious note, I am a supporter of KISS. Life's already complex itself as it is...

5. I think it was your comment in Kyel’s blog
Ooo. Any idea what I said/commented on?

6. Male deer (too lazy to research on the specific name)
(No comments =_=")

7. Are you this nice to every blogger you meet?
Was I being nice to you? :P
